In this world we have both reasons to be angry and fearful, as well as empathetic and compassionate. I choose the latter. You see, we live in a volatile time where pressures are building and they are beckoning us to move in one direction or the other. We are being asked to choose. One path leads to truth and fulfillment, and the other to a maze with infinite variations that all end in suffering. I have made a conscious decision to move toward truth.
The world has been steadily progressing toward humanities dominion over this physical world for aeons. As our control increases so does competition over the power contained within humanity. Megalomaniacal minds move to control the willful actions of human beings, and since there is only one truth and many vying for power, we are delivered one carefully contrived deception after another in an attempt to win our favor.
Each one of us represents an individualized portion of the potential collective energy in humanity. Because of this we are valuable to the power hungry. In a broad sense the political, academic, philosophical, and ideological fronts can be viewed in one of two ways. The first being to spread the truth, and the second the intent to deceive. Both are intended to coalesce the potential power that is individualized within every human into one place, so that when willful action is necessary we can be mobilized one way or the other.
The question then becomes; How do we know who is telling the truth and who is trying to deceive us? When there is a call to action and we rise up in one voice we will be unstoppable, so we must be sure. If we don’t move toward the truth our legacy will only be more suffering.
That is the ultimate state of affairs in our world. The cause of mass suffering because we forego the truth for something… less pure. This can be any number of things because in the mind we can rationalize justifications for literally anything. Just listen to a good Lawyer spin a tale. The mind is malleable. The Nazi’s where convinced they where right. Stalin thought he was justified. The Cambodian death fields where filled with bodies who suffered because of the perverted truth of a psychopath.
So what is the truth? How can it be identified? They say hindsight is 20/20, so lets gaze back through time at all the “wrong” we’ve seen. This works in the microcosm of our individualized lives as well as the macrocosm of the collective experience of mankind throughout the ages.
Human suffering that is caused intentionally is the single most obvious factor in wrongdoing.
The intent to harm, for any reason beyond the explicit preservation of ones own life (or the life of another), is not only wrong but the antithesis to truth. Anything that moves us away from truth causes harm. Horrifying and atrocious examples of this can be easily observed throughout our history and continues in news stories daily, but sometimes the suffering is not as directly observable as in acts of violence; yet the battle rages on and victims are claimed none-the-less. We could speak on specifics, but there are just too many to bother. Instead of focusing on the innumerable deceptions we must focus on the one truth.
Truth is immutable, timeless, and singular in purpose. Before the mind can be manipulated and convinced of accepting a lie as truth it is easily identifiable. I believe it is the driving force within us that animates all life. It is the emotional well-spring that flows from a place unknown yet gives rise to our every action. It is the essential human nature within us. Before the deception of this world caused us to recoil within ourselves we where beings of pure love and compassion.
Don’t believe me? Think this all sounds a little hippy-ish? Where are all the examples of violent babies? Where are the toddlers who commit atrocities? I know, I know… it sounds absurd because it is. It takes time for the world to infest the mind and pervert the emotional purity of human beings. We learn evil, and suffering is our only recompense. In time we become harbingers of suffering as we ascribe to all manner of lies that are propagated as truth.
The common denominator is that these lies contradict our nature each and every time, and deep down we know something is amiss. All to often we are lost in the maze of the mind wrestling with the illogical, or the contradictions that abound, when we should be listening to our emotions. Emotions are nothing less than the response of our deepest truth, the truth of who we are.
The truth is that you are a being of pure love and every time you do something that betrays that truth you and those around you will suffer. It took a massive amount of suffering for me to realize this. It is such a shame, because this world has the potential to be paradise. We are deceived into believing that it is somehow inherently dangerous, when the only real danger is believing so in the first place.
